Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been a photographer?
11 years! My first wedding gig was in May of 2012.
How do I book you and do I need to pay a deposit?
Once you submit a contact form I will get back to you with more details about my packages and prices. After we discuss which is the right package for you and when you are ready to officially reserve your date and book, I will send you a proposal via email with a contract and invoice. For weddings I ask for 20% deposit of your total package price and all other sessions require a $50 deposit. Keep in mind your date is not reserved until the deposit is paid and the date can be given to someone else who inquires!
What should I wear for my session?
You should wear what you are comfortable in! Neutrals and earthy tones with not too many prints always photograph the best. If you are still unsure, ask me to send you my Pinterest page for inspiration.
Where should we take our photos?
It all depends on the kind of vibe or style you are going for! Do you want wide open fields and trees? The beach? Mountains? Something more urban? Let me know what you’re going for and I’d love to assist with location ideas. P.S. I am MORE than willing to drive to a unique location out of town! Southern California has so many great spots. Some of my favorites are Joshua Tree National Park, Palm Springs, Palomar Mountain, Julian, Glamis Sand Dunes, and the list goes on...
How would you describe your photography style and what should I expect during our session?
My style has a moody and romantic feel and I thrive with natural light outdoors. During our session, I try to capture candid moments and will direct you when necessary. Sometimes you will notice me taking photos when you may not even be paying attention. I try to capture real moments, and little details you may not have remembered about. I’m there to hold your bags, fix your hair or dress, and make you feel as comfortable as possible without feeling awkward. Your session should be fun! So many of my clients say they are awkward in front of the camera, but don’t fret. The majority of my clients can’t believe they are looking at themselves after they see the finished result.
What is your turnaround time for galleries?
For weddings, about 3-4 weeks, sometimes less! I try my best to get the finished gallery to my clients as soon as possible. For couples and family sessions, around 1 week! Please keep in mind that in addition to the time spent at your wedding or session, it takes hours to carefully edit each photo one by one, and I often have hundreds (sometimes thousands) of photos to sort through. Your patience is appreciated more than you know!
How will I receive my photos? Do you print them for me?
Your photos will be delivered via an online gallery that you can download and share with family/friends. At this time, I do not offer any prints. This is why all of my packages include printing rights. Once you download your photos, you are free to print them however you like!
How long do you store my photos?
You will have up to 2 months to download all of your photos and before your gallery expires. After that, I do keep the photos for up to 1 year in case of anything. But, you will be charged a fee if they need to be uploaded onto a gallery again. Which is why I HIGHLY recommend that you download your entire gallery onto a desktop or laptop, or multiple if possible. Backing up your photos onto a flash drive or an external hard drive is always a good idea, too!
Do you give RAW/unedited files? Can you re-edit photos?
Sorry, I don’t give out any RAW/unedited files and cannot re-edit your gallery. Simple reason, I spend hours editing each and every photo one by one. When you book with me, you should expect your gallery to look similar to what you see on my website and Instagram. If you’re looking for a different style of editing than mine, it would be best that you look for another photographer that fits more with your vision!
